Data Eclipse Lan Party Rules

1.   Along with all the players, there will be several non-playing administrators. Please abide by all the instructions given by these administrators as they are there for the safety of the players, the safety of the computers, and to make sure that this is a fun time for all. The administrators are also the only ones who will have access to the game servers.

2.   Be prepared. Have all the latest patches for all the games you want to play. If you know you're going to be in one or more of the tournaments, then have the games installed and updated before the posted tournament times. We will have a tournament schedule posted and will try and have the latest patches available to as many games as possible. Make sure your pc is network ready. We will assist you in the network setup so that you can join the games, but at least have a network card installed in your PC. If you need a network card, then all you have to do is either stop up to Data Eclipse and purchase one or bring in your PC and have one installed for you through our Tech Now program.

3.   You may notice that when you are at the Lan Party there will be literally thousands of dollars in equipment sitting around that does not belong to you. Please be respectful of other people's property and simply do not touch it unless you are requested to do so. You are responsible for all of your own equipment and Data Eclipse is in no way liable for anything lost or stolen. Unless you want someone to have access to your data, we recommend you turn off all file sharing.

4.   This should be completely self-explanatory, but cheating in tournament games will simply not be tolerated. There are no cash prizes for winning tournaments and therefore, no reasons to cheat. Cheaters will be either asked to leave without a refund, thrown a blanket party, be sold into slavery, or all of the above. We are only here to have a good time and to have some fun. Lets play fair.

5.   We are all guilty of saying the occasional derogatory statement to one of our friends or family members over a game. We know words will slip and one of the benefits of playing on a LAN is that you can taunt your friends to their faces, but we need to remember that these are our friends. The notion of getting into an argument or fight over a video game is a ridiculous one. Foul language is not acceptable as well as directly insulting someone with the intention of putting them down. We are here only for the sake of fun and all players are required to enjoy themselves whether they want to or not.

6.   Food and smoking is allowed only in the designated areas that will be pointed out to everyone at the start of the Lan Party. Drinks will only be allowed in the computer area if they are in a spill resistant cup or mug or have a cap that can be closed. No exceptions can be made on this.

7.   Each person is going to be allocated to 3 feet of table space. Make sure the equipment you bring is going to fit into this area. Try to limit yourself to a 17” monitor and all PC’s will need to be set on the floor. Also, headsets are recommended, but not required.

8.   Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

All rules are subject to change with out notice.
